New Look Maternity color block dress for work & play

It’s not often that a maternity dress makes me wish I was pregnant, just for the cuteness of it, but this New Look colour block dress achieves just that (well, almost). It’s simple, it’s chic, you can get a sober look, or twist it for a more playful outfit.

These are 2 looks that I think are easy and fun:

My obsession with kimonos persists, so I decided to create a little dream outfit with a gorgeous Kimono inspired by this lovely lady.

Mama´s friends: cardigans

Oh, good old cardis! They are just style lifesavers. They can be worn all year round, on top of a sun dress in a chilly summer evening, or in clever layering underneath your favorite coat  in a freezing winter morning.
As for mamas, an oversized cardigan can be worn during the whole pregnancy, as well as a fitted one, just leave it unbuttoned.  And of course we nursing mothers know well the wonders of a nice cardi (I am rarely out of one).
Here are some pretty items I found:

Mama-friendly shoes

If you are carrying a bump or a baby, chances are you won´t be wearing 6in platforms. Because that would be uncomfortable, unhealthy (if you are pregnant) and, well, a bit silly (right, Mrs Beckham?). Of course, stilettos can be worn during special occasions, but strutting in your heels on a day-to-day basis is out of the question.

But fear not. There are plenty of beautiful shoes that will make you feel beautiful too. Brogues are still very much in, and lately sneakers have made a comeback. You are spoilt for choice!

One mama-friendly dress, two ways to wear it

Motherhood often means multitasking (my son is nursing as I type this, no kidding), and this concept translates to our clothing as well. Take this simple black maxi dress for instance: it makes an easy choice for work paired with a smart blazer, but you can transform the look with a denim touch and some ethnic accessories. This particular dress is maternity and breastfeeding-friendly, so the possibilities are endless.
